The Pineapple Cup-Montego Bay Race, an 811-nautical mile sailing race hosted biennially by the Montego Bay Yacht Club and Storm Trysail Club, is pleased to welcome the Jamaica Tourist Board as a Gold Level Sponsor.

The Jamaica Tourist Board is charged with a mission of marketing the tourism product so that Jamaica remains the premier Caribbean tourism destination. As a Gold Level Sponsor, Jamaica Tourist Board's support provides an additional level of promotion for one of the oldest offshore races in the world.

"This is an exciting partnership for the Jamaica Tourist Board, with a lot of room for meaningful impact. By supporting the historic Pineapple Cup, we are excited to help amplify the message of Jamaica being the Heartbeat of the World to the sailing community. In addition, we look forward to promoting the race throughout Jamaica and to its visitors," said Donovan White, Jamaica's Director of Tourism.

As part of the new sponsorship, the Pineapple Cup-Montego Bay race will be proactive in efforts to communicate with fans, teams and sailing enthusiasts about the destination of Jamaica. "As the biggest sailing event in Jamaica, we are grateful for Jamaica Tourist Board's support to help us reach a wider audience. Jamaica offers excellent sailing, anchoring, mooring and socializing options. The challenging and scenic Pineapple Cup provides multiple opportunities to showcase the beautiful journey and of course the amazing fun that can be had once here in Jamaica. With the friendliest people, adventurous attractions, amazing food and the world's best rums, why would you not want to sail to sunny and warm Montego Bay in January 2022," said Nigel Knowles, Montego Bay Yacht Club Rear Commodore.

The Pineapple Cup - Montego Bay Race will be held January 22 - 29th. The 811-nautical mile race is open to mono and multi-hulls over 40 feet. Started in 1961, it is one of the oldest offshore races in the world. More information can be found at pineapplecup.com
