Comfortable, spacious, elegant: With Itama 54, style enters a new dimension

The Itama range grows in size with Itama 54, the new model that maximises freedom at sea through a sharp focus on comfort in the living areas and even more generous spaces on board. Presented as a world premiere at the last Cannes Yachting Festival, Itama 54 marks Itama's return to the open cruiser segment from 50 to 59 feet, maintaining the essential and recognisable style that has always been one of the signature features of every model.

With a length overall of 16.44 metres and a 4.73-metre beam, the new model is the result of collaboration between the Ferretti Group Product Strategy Committee led by Piero Ferrari and the Group's Engineering Department.

In keeping with the unmistakable Italian-made elegance that has always been one of the brand's hallmarks, Itama 54 presents aesthetic and functional solutions that elevate the onboard and cruising experience. The exterior design blends Itama's iconic features, such as the closed stern and expansive windscreen, with stylistic novelties. They include the large sun pad flush with the foredeck, an arrangement that adds continuity to the exterior lines, and the side glazing, which for the first time runs the length of the hull, letting more light into the lower deck and giving the boat an eye-catching, modern silhouette.

Main Deck

Itama 54's main deck features an optimised layout designed to offer guests the utmost in comfort, with walkways that are spacious and well-organised.

The aft section is almost entirely occupied by a large sun pad, one of the brand's signature features, with a passageway on the port side for access to the boat. The 1,800-litre compartment under the sun pad is ideal for storing water toys thanks to the design of the transom, which has also made it possible to extend the cockpit.

The big novelty of this model is the double-cockpit layout of the outdoor living area, which has two spaces devoted entirely to relaxation. The two C-shaped sofas, connected by a bench arranged crosswise that can be equipped with a tilting backrest, transform into two adjacent outdoor lounges that accommodate more than 10 people. The classic aft cockpit is complemented by a table. The innovation is the second cockpit positioned up against the windscreen, offering guests an area protected from the wind and spray when cruising. Serving both areas is a practical cooler between the two sofas, so that cool drinks are always close to hand. On the starboard side, the large bar unit and sink can also be fitted with a fridge, icemaker and hotplate (optional). To provide shade for the living areas, Itama 54 is fitted with a practical detachable awning that's perfect for enjoying the outdoor lounge even on the sunniest days.

Also on the starboard side, the helm station has a comfortable seat for two people and a modern floating dashboard fitted with a Simrad navigation system operated from two 12-inch touchscreen chartplotters, extendable to 16-inch in the optional version. The pilot seat is also designed for maximum comfort, with built-in cup holders and a storage compartment.

Another innovation on Itama 54 is the walkway to the bow area, which unlike previous models is positioned on the starboard side of the windscreen. This solution frees up the central section of the windscreen, making the bow area easier to reach and allowing the companionway to be left open, ensuring immediate access below deck. Itama's iconic windscreen also has a new design, featuring full-height glazing which gives the boat a lighter feel.

The bow also has a distinctive feature in the form of the generous sun pad, complete with storage compartment and cup holder, that is perfectly flush with the deck.

Lower Deck

The wide steps down to the lower deck lead to a well-organised setting with a fully equipped galley, a cosy dinette, two cabins and two bathrooms.

In the central section of the boat, on the starboard side, the galley area is designed for practical use, with a sink, an induction cooktop and a full-height fridge. On request, an oven and dishwasher can also be installed to meet the various needs of the owner. Next to the kitchen, the dinette provides a comfortable space for relaxing or dining on board, in which the natural light is amplified by the side glazing. It consists of a sofa paired with a folding, stowable table (available as an option), while a 55-inch television can be fitted flush with the front wall, perfectly integrated into the interior design.

On the starboard side, also midships, is the guest cabin, which is available with a queen-size bed or bunk beds. The cabin is served by an en-suite bathroom, which can also act as a dayhead for guests if needed thanks to a second entrance from the hallway.

The master cabin in the bow is bright and airy thanks to the two side portholes and a skylight. The centrally positioned double bed has two large drawers in the base for convenient storage, and there are spacious wardrobes on either side of the cabin. On the starboard side is the owner's fully appointed private bathroom.

Reprising the exterior design, the interiors too are simple and functional, with decor featuring wood, leather and fabric designed to give the boat a welcoming feel and an elegant look. The interiors are given a sense of movement by two linear style features that run the length of the boat, from the galley to the master cabin: the band of decorative leather trim on the wall-mounted cabinet doors, and the two metal strips in the white ceiling that incorporate the lights.

Propulsion and Technology

Itama 54 is powered by the new i6 line of engines from MAN. The standard configuration is a pair of MAN i6-730hp units, which translates into a top speed of 33 knots and a cruising speed of 28 knots, while a pair of MAN i6-850hp engines in the optional version drives the yacht to a maximum speed of 37 knots and a cruising speed of 33 knots (preliminary data). The boat is fitted with state-of-the-art technology, including DEMM-BCS electro-hydraulic steering and QUICK Interceptor trim tabs. A Seakeeper NG6 stabilizing system can also be installed on request to minimise roll.
