Premium performance boat builder MJM Yachts announces the launch of its new V Series yachts, featuring contemporary styling and deck plans focused on enhancing social interaction and adventures on the water.
The first model in the series, the MJM 38V, makes its debut at the private MJM Experience owner event on September 11-12, and premieres to the public at the fall boat shows, including the Newport International Boat Show in Newport, R.I., on September 17-20, the Annapolis Powerboat Show October 8 - 11, 2026 and the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show on October 28-November 1.
Designed for active days on the water along with entertaining family and friends on board, the new V Series offers a leaner, less traditional profile than MJM's X Series day yachts and R Series cruisers, while preserving the brand's Downeast DNA. Additional V Series models already are in the works, including a 47-footer.
The new MJM 38V shares the same lightweight performance hull as the 38X and 38R, built with MJM Yachts' C5®advanced composite construction technology for superior seakeeping, efficiency and the smooth ride owners expect from an MJM. But that's where the similarity between the series ends. The 38V's new topsides layout features a modern flush-mounted helm with space for two Garmin GPSMAP® 1543 xsv Ultrawide Chartplotters, contemporary steering wheel, and a substantial, actuated windshield that provides both natural airflow and protection from the elements. The yacht's open, highly social layout includes abundant seating and dining options in both bow and aft cockpits, along with maximized storage offering space for a full day's gear.
"The 38V introduces a completely new silhouette for MJM, but it is built around everything owners value about the brand: a smooth ride, fuel-efficient performance and confidence at the helm. It gives boaters more seating, more storage and a highly social layout without giving up the engineering that makes an MJM an MJM," said Natascia Hatch, MJM Yachts president and CEO.
Extending the 38V's range to overnight and weekend adventures, the yacht has a cuddy with berth, sink and head tucked into the port helm console. Created in collaboration with Verge Yacht Design, the cabin's yacht-level interior features upgraded wood trim, refined accents, premium materials and thoughtful detailing. The partnership between Verge and MJM brings a fresh design perspective to the 38V while remaining true to MJM's emphasis on practical luxury, comfort and ease of use.
Offered with twin 300hp Mercury Verado outboards as standard or optional 425hp Mercury Verados, the MJM 38 V is capable 50-plus-mph performance without sacrificing ride comfort or efficiency. Both power packages are paired with Mercury's advanced steering and control technology, including joystick control, supporting intuitive handling, precise maneuverability and confident owner operation.
"What excites us most about the 38V is the balance between performance and real-world usability," said Joe Cacopardo, MJM Yachts vice president, marketing. "It is fast, responsive and efficient, but it is also comfortable for a full day aboard and thoughtfully designed around how families and friends actually spend time on the water."
