The Club was founded in 1969. Initiated by Staff & Parents of boys of Whitefriars School, Cheltenham, we still have a few Founder Members amongst our Membership. We are known as a friendly & family club, embracing elements of competition by regular racing for those who wish to race, cruising for those who wish to sail at leisure, fun sailing events, and a well balanced programme of Social events for all ages. If you've considered sailing but thought it too expensive or even elitist then have a look at our Q&A page that outlines some typical costs. As owners of the Clubhouse, lake and surrounding area, we take pride in keeping it tidy and making good use of the facilities it offers.

For the non-sailing members of the family it is very pleasant to amble around the bridle paths, relax and picnic or barbeque on the grass area by the Club-house. The inside facilities include a good viewing area (for cooler days), toilets, changing rooms with showers and a refreshment area which is open on Sundays and served by club members from the Duty Rota. The area also includes a licensed bar and notice-boards full of information to keep members well informed of our 'goings on'.
