Laser 2 Worlds at Weymouth & Portland Sailing Academy Day 4

by Mike Croker 23 Jul 2009 10:51 PDT 18-25 July 2009

After a sparkling day's racing in Weymouth Bay, Brits Nigel Skudder and Keith Hills look set to retain their Laser II World Champions mantle, despite only scoring one more bullet. The wind steadily increased for from F3-4 for the first race to F5+ for third race, giving screaming reaches, exciting runs and a good few swims as the waves built.

The top 3 teams were in a class of their own but, behind the leaders, competition for the next 3 places also remains close, with the rapidly improving team of David Annan & Amanda Childs hoping that the strong wind forecast for Friday does not cause the last 2 scheduled races to be abandoned.

Results after Day 4: (11 races, 2 discards)
