Optimist Europeans at Tavira, Portugal - Day 4

The 225 sailors racing in the IODA European Championship on the off the coast of Tavira Island complete the 4th day of regattas.

The two races scheduled for today have been successfully completed, and the day was characterized by SW winds (210-225 °) with intensity varying from 8 to 12 knots.

The male leadership is now dominated by the spanish sailor Luis Cabrera, followed by the greeks Patelis Nikolaos and Oikonomidis Konstantinos who returned to the top three.

The italian Francesca Bergamo climbed back to the first position, followed by Maria Caba, from Spain and the czech Nikol Stankova who felt to the third place.

Two days before the end of the Championship, the tempers are high and the competition is keen.

After nine races, in the top ranking are:

Boys Group:

1st Luís Cabrera - Spain
2nd Patelis Nikolaos - Greece
3rd Oikonomidis Konstantinos - Greece

Girls Group:

1st Francesca Bergamo – Italy
2nd Maria Caba – Spain
3rd Nikol Stankova – Czech Republic
