Southwold SC are holding an Open Day on Saturday 9th May, as part of the RYA's Push the Boat out campaign which runs from 9th-17th May,. The aim of the day is to give potential new members a chance to view the club facilities and to get on the water for a taster session.

Whether you're completely new to the sport, looking to get back on the water or sail regularly Southwold SC will be one of the many sailing clubs and centres across the country taking part in RYA Push the Boat Out. The event will see hundreds of people taking part in the sport at open days, have a go sessions and fun events for all the family

The club have this year been awarded a Sport England grant to add to their fleet of training boats and now offer two training programmes for club members.

Learn to Sail is held every Saturday afternoon in the Laser Pico singlehanded dinghy, this is an excellent introduction to the sport, where students will learn the basics of sailing under the watchful eye of the clubs RYA Instructors.

Following this the Learn to race sessions in the clubs Laser 2000 fleet, gives students a chance to join in with Sunday club racing and hone the skills learnt in the Picos.

In addition the club has a full programme of cruising racing and social events planned, full details on the website - www.southwoldsc.org - or you can up to date with all the latest news by following us on Facebook or Twitter.

For anyone joining the club during the Push the Boat out week there will be no joining fee.

Come along and see us on Saturday 9th May from midday.
