The 'Yanmar Wooden Boatshop – Wooden Boat Festival of Geelong' is excited to announce that Christine Couzens MP has kindly accepted an invitation to be the Ambassador for the 2018 Festival.

The Wooden Boat Festival will be held at the Royal Geelong Yacht Club from Saturday, March 10 to Monday, March 12, 2018.

Born and bred in Geelong - and a long-time resident of Geelong West - Christine has a great understanding of the needs and issues of her local community and has been a long-time supporter of the Wooden Boat Festival of Geelong. Recently, she has also been a champion for the St Ayles Skiff Community Project, which involves new migrants through the Diversitat organisation in a wonderful example of multiculturalism at work.

Christine was elected the member for Geelong at the 2014 Victorian State Government elections. She has a proud record and commitment to social justice issues in Geelong, including working with young homeless people and has established many networks and links within our community.

The Committee of the 2018 Wooden Boat Festival looks forward to working closely with Christine to promote this fantastic event for Victoria and regional Geelong Region.
