Helly Hansen Warsash Spring Series - Day 3

by Louise Nicholls 10 Apr 2018 01:01 PDT 8 April 2018

The forecast for the third weekend of the Helly Hansen Warsash Spring Series was not encouraging with only a maximum of 5 knots of Northerly wind forecast.

So it was more in hope than real expectation of getting any racing underway that the committee boats headed out of the Hamble river and into the Solent.

The White Group committee boat settled down to wait near William, and the Black Group committee boat came to rest near Ryde Middle. Neither saw more than 3 knots of wind; with no signs through the murk and drizzle of the wind building. So the decision was taken around 11:30 to call it a day and abandon racing.

Well done to everyone who did get out on the water to go racing, and hopefully we will see more action next Sunday, 15th April.

The Helly Hansen Warsash Spring Series is sponsored by Helly Hansen @HellyHansen #feelalive, with race partners Crewsaver and Doyle Sails. For the full results and information about the series go to www.warsashspringseries.org.uk.

The Crewsaver Warsash Spring Championship will run on the following weekends: 21/22 April and 28/29 April 2018.
