The Vicsail team Brendan Hunt (CEO), Sue Griffiths (CFO) and Renata Solano (Marketer) were hosted by the directors of BakriCono, Philippe Guenat and Bernard Lamprecht.

"We had a tour of the factory and learnt about the production process and the technologies used by the factory to produce their boats. I'm impressed that they vacuum infuse the hull in one piece and that the other parts of the boat such as walls etc are also vacuum infused", comments Solano.

Guenat assures that this building process benefits your quality, budget and longevity of their vessels.

During the visit, Hunt has also had the opportunity to discuss projects with Guenat and strategies for the Heliotrope brand in the Australia market.

"We are exhibiting an amazing version of the Heliotrope 48 at the Sydney International Boat Show this year. This boat was built for a charter client and with an impressive level of customisation and in line with AMSA accreditation as well", Hunt.

Bakricono Shipyard specialises in the construction of luxury catamaran yachts, both Power and Sailing, in the range of 45 to 120 feet. They have produced the first solar assisted luxury Expedition Power Catamaran Yacht in the world.

"I was very impressed, it is so clean and organised. Also, what really impressed me is how you can get the boat custom made. They have their own wood and steel workshop there. And you can really see the Swiss and South African business model running perfectly well there", exclaims Griffiths.
