On the occasion of the first edition of the Demo Days in Crouesty, France, which took place this weekend, the inventor and world leader of the inflatable boat, Zodiac Nautic, announced the launch of a new rigid inflatable: the Open 5.5, spearheading the revival of this iconic brand.
For four days, hundreds of enthusiasts gathered in Crouesty to share memorable moments on the water at a boating festival that revolved around free courses offering both instruction and fun for a wide range of participants from beginning boaters to "old salts". The programme included RIB driving lessons, a fishing workshop, maintenance tips, an introduction to SUP on Zodiac-Anonym stand-up-paddleboards, and an outing to Houat Island. It was a fine first edition of the "Zodiac School".
The lucky participants had the opportunity to discover and try out the Open 5.5, a versatile rigid-hulled inflatable with bold design, a true SUV of the sea which is adaptable to all hobbies: family cruising, fishing trips, diving with friends, towed water sports such as wakeboarding.
The event marked the successful introduction of the new Open 5.5, which succeeds the legendary Pro Open 550 with thousands of models sold worldwide, that seduced generations of boaters with its adventurous style and adaptability. As a little sister of the Open 7, this new boat is modern, sporty and very seaworthy.
By updating this absolute reference in the world of rigid-hulled inflatables with the new Open 5.5, Zodiac Nautic raises the bar for these "Swiss-knife" boats and marks its comeback.
"The Open 5.5 fully expresses Zodiac's DNA. Its versatility makes it a unique concept, matched nowhere else on the market, in line with its news slogan: Keep Exploring", explained Dominique Heber-Suffrin, CEO of the Zodiac Nautic Group.
Zodiac Nautic, present on the five continents, looks forward to presenting the Demo Days and the launch of the Open 5.5 in Charleston, S.C., in the United States on 20-23 June.
