Marlow Ropes, the world's leading manufacturer of performance yachting rope, announces that it is the official supplier to Vendee Globe's first ever Paralympian competitor, Hannah Stodel Racing.

En route to the 2020 Vendee Globe, Hannah will compete in some of the toughest tests in sailing, including next year's Transat Jacques Vabre using high performance rope supplied by Marlow.

The 32-year-old from Essex is now aiming to become the first sailor with a disability to compete in and finish the Vendee Globe - racing 24,000 non-stop around the world without assistance. Hannah will be first person with a disability to have ever attempted the race and only the eight women to compete in the race's history.

As suppliers to the British Sailing Team, Marlow Ropes has a long and successful relationship with Paralympian Hannah, helping power her to three World Championships and 17 World Cup gold medals throughout her career in the Sonar class.

Hannah said: "I have worked with Marlow Ropes throughout my time on the British Sailing Team and the team there has always ensured that we are equipped with the best ropes.

"As I embark on the next stage of my sailing career it seems natural to partner with a company that has always shared my goal to stay at the cutting edge of my sport. It's important to me to know I've got the best equipment as I sail around the world and I know Marlow Ropes will provide that. I couldn't be more delighted that Marlow will be joining me as I work towards the Vendee Globe."

Paul Honess, Leisure Marine Sales Director at Marlow Ropes, said: "We enjoy partnering with talented sailors across the spectrum of competitive sailing, and the beauty of being able to do this early on, is that we can follow our Marlow sailors throughout their career. We are very proud of our long-running association with Hannah and look forward to supporting her in this next incredible voyage."
