The Sydney International Boat Show commences tomorrow (Thursday 2nd) at ICC Sydney and marina at Cockle Bay, Darling Harbour, with doors open from 10AM.
From tomorrow and continuing through the weekend, including Bank Holiday Monday, the Southern Hemisphere's most comprehensive recreational marine exhibition fills the exhibition space at the ICC Sydney and the custom-built marina at Cockle Bay, presenting everything for the boating lover, covering cruising, sailing, ski and wakeboarding, kayaking, scuba diving, fishing and more.
The top marine dealers from across Australia and beyond have gathered alongside government agencies, offering visitors the chance to view and compare products, learn about the features of various watercraft, and hear about the regulations and safeguards in place to protect our state's waterways.
Up to five million Australians enjoy recreational time on or diving under the water each year, and Australia's boating and scuba diving facilities are considered world class. Well-equipped marinas and dive sites can be found locally and in regional coastal centres, so there's high-quality infrastructure in place for boaters and divers of all persuasions. Australia is fast becoming a well-established first-choice destination for cruising, long-range fishing or inshore water sports with local and international visitors.
Alan Blake, President of the Boating Industry Association Ltd who organise the event, said there's no shortage of opportunities to enjoy Australia's coastal or inland waterways. "As an industry event, the Sydney International Boat Show again reflects the tremendous enthusiasm Australian's have for spending time in and around the water. With hundreds of boats on display, and all the gear to go along with them, this show leaves no doubt about the many ways individuals and families can do so," he said.
Whatever form or style of boating and marine activity meets your needs, the Sydney International Boat Show including the Australia International Dive Expo, presents the extensive range of marine equipment available in this country today. Transport for NSW, the show's Partner in Safety, presents the Boating Safety Zone with plenty of information on how to remain safe and have an even better day out on the water.
Adult entry is $22 with children (6-17 years old) $13. Kids aged five and under are admitted free. Family tickets (2 adults + 3 kids) are $49, Seniors $20 and Pensioners are $16. If you arrive after 5pm, individual single entry tickets are just $5 when purchased from any of the ticket booths at the Show. Multiple day tickets for return visits are also available.
