The new model dovetails neatly between the Mazu 52 and 82 and complements a range that now includes five models, starting with the Mazu 38 and 42 (the flagship Mazu 82 is scheduled for delivery to its Turkish owner in March and will be presented at the 2020 Cannes Yachting Festival). The hull of the first Mazu 62 has been completed and it is still possible to customize interior and exterior layouts as well as the hull colour.
"The Mazu 62 is an eye-catching day cruiser ideal for overnight or weekend trips and highlights the trademark design features of the Mazu range with modern sporty lines, large hull windows, expansive deck space and a spacious interior," says Halit Yukay, yacht designer and CEO of Mazu Yachts. "In fact, the design started as a 58-footer but was increased in size to provide more deck area and interior volume for higher comfort."
The main deck layout features an open cockpit above the engine compartment with space for housing tenders and toys (alternatively, a tender can be stowed on the deep platform aft). Behind the 3-seat helm station is a cosy dinette/conversation area shaded by the hardtop and protected by the windscreen.
The generous foredeck is fitted with comfy bench seating, a wrap-around lounging area and a pop-up dining table that can be lowered and fitted with extra cushions to increase the size of the sun lounger. Wide walkways and deep bulwarks ensure easy and safe passage when moving fore and aft.
Below deck the Mazu 62 makes smart use of the available volume with a full-beam master suite amidships to take advantage of the maximum beam, a roomy dinette and galley with stairway access from the helm station, an en-suite VIP cabin in the bow and an additional cabin with bunk beds for children or crew members.
Needless to say, the new model is being built using Mazu's signature carbon-composite sandwich construction for maximum rigidity and strength and will be powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS engines offering excellent performance and cruising efficiency as well as easy handling and manoeuvrability.
The new Mazu 62 brings the total number of yachts under construction to six at the Mazu shipyard in Yalova, Turkey: 2 x 38ft, 1 x 42ft, 1 x 52 WAft,1 x 62ft and 1x 82ft.
