Suntex appoints new General Manager of Kentucky Dam Marina

by Andrew Golden 10 Sep 2020 06:09 PDT

Suntex Marina Investors, LLC (Suntex), the premier owner and operator of best in-class marina properties, announced today the hire of Bert Morales as General Manager of Kentucky Dam Marina. In his new role, Morales is primarily responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of Kentucky Dam Marina, located in Gilbertsville, Kentucky.

Originally from West Palm Beach, Florida, Morales has made a career out of restaurant ownership, partnering with well-known brands. In 2007, he took an opportunity to shift his focus and managed several high-end country clubs in Augusta and Atlanta, Georgia. In 2017, he became an investor and part-owner of a yacht charter company, which, along with his passion for boating, introduced him to Suntex Marinas.

"We are very excited to welcome Bert to our Suntex family," said Rich Carter, chief operating officer, Suntex. "His background in restaurant and club management, coupled with yacht charter company management, as well as a strong work ethic makes him an ideal addition to the Kentucky Dam team. We are looking forward to making a positive impact on the customer, associate, and property experience."

"I'm looking forward to the work ahead, guiding Kentucky Dam towards a future as one of the premiere properties in Suntex's portfolio," said Morales. "Our visitors deserve the best possible experience and our knowledgeable staff are in the perfect position to give them exactly that."

Morales has already launched a Suntex Boat Club at this location. The Suntex Boat Club is a private, members-only organization that allows full access to an entire fleet of boats. Boat Club members also get complimentary access to a complete inventory of accessories such as wakeboards, kneeboards, tubes, skis and more. The Suntex Boat Club offers an easy, affordable introduction to the boating lifestyle, as boaters simply pay the membership dues along with the fuel they use. Members can log into an easy-to-use online reservation system or call to reserve the boat of choice, and when they arrive at the dock, the boat is prepared, sanitized and ready to go.

The Suntex portfolio of marinas are located in California, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee and Virginia.
