Saw dust and the smell of epoxy are filling the air more than the oak pollen now and the new 82' S/F is well through her planking.
The hull sides are done and the bottom is next. While we have been cold-molding all of our hulls since the late 60's with solid mahogany planking, we still seem to get questions about it a lot. To lay it all out there, no, we would never use plywood on our hull sides and bottoms even though, yes, it is still technically cold molded if it is with plywood.
For us, the only way to build is with solid, hand-chosen mahogany planks, glued together with our proven epoxy resin. Why leave the lamination up to whomever manufacturers the off-the-rack plywood that you can buy? Another reason why our hulls are superior.
