The Boat Galley Atlantic ICW Cockpit Quick Reference Guide

For years, ICW cruisers have spent evenings poring over cruising guides and making lists for their next days' run: bridges, anchorages, fuel and water stops, places to be alert for shoaling, and more.

No longer. The Boat Galley Atlantic ICW Cockpit Quick Reference does it all for you. It contains separate mile-by-mile guides for each type of information: inlets, anchorages, free docks, bridges and locks, services (diesel, gas, water, propane, pumpouts), nav alerts, and haulout facilities. Two small bonus sections provide a quick refresher on dredging and horn signals.

"As a single-hander, I wanted something that was supremely easy to use while under way. Easy to find the one piece of info I need, and easy to read it too," said Larry Webber, the chief author of the guide. "I think we nailed it here."

"This guide is designed to be kept and used in the cockpit, with tough waterproof paper and a lay-flat spiral binding so it'll stay open to just the page you need," added Carolyn Shearlock, founder of The Boat Galley. "I used a prototype this past summer while traveling the Florida ICW and loved how quickly I could find bridge names, opening schedules, and VHF channels. One thing we discovered with the waterproof paper is that you can write on it with a dry erase marker and then wipe it off later for a clean start on another trip. I'd check off each bridge as we went through it, which made it a snap to know which one was next up. When we turned back south in St. Augustine, I just erased all my checkmarks from the trip north and started anew."

The Atlantic ICW Cockpit Quick Reference is designed to supplement your cruising guides and provide quick answers for questions during a day's run, such as:

  • If we press on, is there a good anchorage in about an hour?
  • Where's the nearest place to get fuel? Water? A pumpout?
  • Which side of that dredge is safe to go on?
  • What's the name of this bridge and when does it open?
