3 Mast Tall Ship Sørlandet coming back to St. Maarten - St. Martin

Caribbean Sail Training announced today that once again one of their member vessels, the full rigged Tall ship Sørlandet, will visit St.Maarten-St.Martin in the beginning of February.
The nonprofit association Caribbean Sail Training has over seventy member vessels, many of them visiting regularly the Caribbean Islands.
Sørlandet sails basically with youngsters of the A+ World Academy.
In cooperation with Caribbean Sail Training and A+ World Academy, sixteen year old Ce´cilia Pivin from Saint Martin and fourteen year old Claudia Ramirez from Puerto Rico have sailed as trainees in February 2020 from St.Martin Marigot to Jamaica and later on to Bermuda.
Cécilia is now studying in France while Claudia just embarked again on the Sørlandet in the Canary Islands and will remain onboard all the way during the ship's voyage !
The vessel has sailed from Las Palmas to the Cabo Verde Islands and will continue from there to Guyana, Bequia in St.Vincent and the Grenadines, make a stop in Marigot Saint Martin and further on to Puerto Rico, Bermuda, Horta in the Azores, Dublin in Ireland and on to the vessel's home base in Kristiansand Norway.
Claudia will than graduate there.
The Sørlandet is commonly referred to as the 'Pearl of Norway' and is today the world's oldest fully rigged tall ship still in active service. For over 90 years she has been an arena for young people to learn and to grow. Even though the ship is old, she is equipped with modern facilities from showers and bathrooms under the foredeck to a laundromat in the aft deck. Most students sleep in hammocks that follow the motion of the sea. The students' dorm onboard is the banjer, a room below the main deck that serves as a classroom, dining hall and bedroom. 64 students, divided into designated spaces for males and females, must learn to come together as a close community that communicates well and is sensitive to each other's needs.
The students follow a rigorous academic program with a selection of Advanced Placement (AP) courses and the possibility to graduate with the AP Capstone Diploma. The instruction is traditional and similar to any other school. All instruction, however happens at sea while moving from one destination to the next.
