From 24th to 28th August the 2022 IRC European Championship will be sailed as part of Damen Breskens Sailing Weekend.

The Notice of Race and entry portal can be found online here or directly at manage2sail.com and there is an early bird discount for entries made and paid before 30th June 2022.

The venue for the event is Breskens in the southwest of the Netherlands. There will be one day of registration and equipment inspection followed by four days of racing on varied courses, including windward/leeward courses on set marks and coastal courses using existing navigational marks. The racing area is on the edge of the North Sea and Westerschelde river leading up to Antwerp, which makes for interesting tidal conditions.

Breskens, being a tourist hotspot, has a lot to offer onshore and there is ample accommodation available for visiting crew. As the event is based at the major marina in the area all the marine services needed are readily available on site.

Damen Breskens Sailing Weekend is also hosting the CR rated yachts and Double-Handed entries on a separate course with three days of racing from Friday to Sunday. A separate Notice of Race is published for these classes.

The local organisation is working closely with IRC rating - RORC and UNCL - and the Dutch and Belgium class organizations Noordzeeclub and WWSV. It is ready to deliver top level racing and entertainment at the end of the day after sailing and looks forward to welcoming sailors to this special event.
