Thanks to Parkstone for pulling out the stops and putting on a very good event. Great to see the new club house in full use and a bit of a privilege to be the first Open Event at the club after a two year Covid break.

Two days sailing in the bay, testing both the Race Officer and the sailors (as the individual results might hint!). Well done to the Race Officer and team for getting all the races in and dealing with 180 degree swings in the wind. Thanks the friendly bar and galley staff and especially the rescue boat that gave us a tow in at the end of day one!

Congratulations to Rob and Fi for winning, Paul for his single handed second and Rod and Sarah for their third place (and just leading Rob and Fi after day one!). The new SW Champions were Lido and Mark from Parkstone and the UKIDA Handicap prizes went to Nick Troy and Ben, Lido and Mark, and Martin and Pippa in that order.

Good to see three Swanage boats sailing over and joining in the event, hopefully we can arrange a return event at Swanage next year?

Fickle winds and fluctuating fortunes Wednesday was to have been a day of round-the-harbour courses for most of the fleets racing in Poole Week. The Dolphins and Cornish Shrimpers tend to sail round-the-harbour courses anyway - none of this triangle/sausage business for them. Posted on 29 Aug
