Iris Innovations, leader in affordable on-board camera security and situational awareness systems, announced today the release of powerful new subscription-free Cloudlink2 cellular modem/router with WiFi.

Operating at low voltage and boasting extensive worldwide coverage, the low cost, small footprint Cloudlink is the ultimate portal for viewing and controlling onboard camera systems. Offering affordable, remote access and control of onboard cameras, Cloudlink is a multi-platform 4G modem router with WiFi failover, which allows Cloudlink to switch between WiFi data when in range of marina WiFi, and automatically switches to cellular services when out of range. Users can even connect the modem to an onboard satellite transceiver, providing even greater coverage if required. Cloudlink's WiFi also means users aren't tied to the helm and can view cameras on board via a smart phone, tablet or computer. Acting as a WiFi access point or hotspot, Cloudlink also allows access to the internet from other devices such as laptops and tablets. The Iris Cloudlink is unique in the market as it requires no subscription plan for this functionality and the hardware is offered at a price point lower than the competition.

"Up until recently, we pointed clients requiring remote access to third party hardware solutions and services. Now we have decided the best way to support our clients is to develop and supply a remote connection interface of our own," said Carl Hitchcock, managing director, Iris Innovations. "With the new Cloudlink we can provide full support without having to rely on the services of other providers and, perhaps more importantly, as our business model is that of a manufacturer and not a subscription-based service provider, we can provide hardware for a one-off cost. Other than the data service charges you pay to your cellular data provider, there are no recurring subscription charges - once you purchase the hardware, that's it, guaranteed!"

Measuring roughly three- by four-inches, the Cloudlink2 is ideal for discreet installation. The extruded aluminum housing is durable and can be DIN rail or surface mounted. Cloudlink is available through Iris' worldwide dealer network, Fort Lauderdale hub and direct from Iris UK and priced at $300 USD.

Iris Innovations launches new ultra affordable Thermal Vision Camera

Iris Innovations, leader in affordable on-board camera security and situational awareness systems, announced today the release of a new line of ultra-affordable dual-spectrum IP thermal PTZ cameras - ATOM.

The cameras feature a high definition two mega-pixel visual spectrum camera with 10x optical and 10x digital zoom, and two options of high-resolution 12-micron thermal cores (400x300 and 640x512 resolutions). Both options boast an ultra-sensitive detection range of <40mK. The cameras can interface over IP directly to Iris CMAC camera management systems and leading chart plotters, and a new dedicated IP mini controller will be available in early 2023. An industry first, the new cameras will be offered under $3,000 USD, making it the most affordable thermal imaging system on the market.

"Thermal imaging has become more and more mainstream on recreational and commercial vessels," said Carl Hitchcock, managing director, Iris Innovations. "The big factor limiting its adoption has always been price. Our new ATOM cameras not only offer exceptional image quality and ease of use but are offered at a price that will make them as common an addition to a vessel as radar systems have become."

Available with waterproof side entry or base entry cable options, the cameras are built into a robust yet compact IP66 case, designed to protect the unit from the harshest environmental conditions. Each camera module has its own IP address meaning the cameras can be configured, controlled and switched separately, and are compatible with many leading marine chart plotters. An RS485 Serial Data connection is also provided to maximize control options, allowing the cameras to be controlled via NVR or computer, as well as Iris's CMAC range of camera management systems or CCTV joystick controllers supporting the Pelco-D protocol. The entire unit is eight-inches (206mm) tall with a base diameter of six-inches (160mm) and weighs just under four and a half pounds (2Kg).

ATOM is available through Iris' worldwide dealer network, Fort Lauderdale hub and direct from Iris UK.

Iris Innovations expands CMAC compatibility with affordable and compact Garmin TD50 Displays

Iris Innovations, leader in affordable on-board camera security and situational awareness systems, announced today it has partnered with Garmin to release the innovative IrisControl app, now compatible with the affordable and compact Garmin TD50 five-inch display.

Iris has re-designed the IrisControl software, in conjunction with its CMAC range of camera management and control systems, into a control pad style application for Garmin's new low-cost and compact TD50 displays. This innovation delivers a dynamic and feature-rich interface in Garmin's low cost, 5-inch touchscreen format, allowing users to view and control onboard cameras from the IrisControl interface even if users aren't using a compatible Garmin system.

Compatible with both analogue IP and HD cameras, Iris CMAC combines all of the main elements of a full-featured security and control system into a very stylish enclosure, complete with high-end waterproof connectors and wood-effect end caps. The system features digital video recording, alarm management, network and serial data management, and a removable, shock-proof hard drive caddy. The unit's built-in recorder is fully configurable to maximize storage time, allowing users to adjust resolution, frame rate, motion detection parameters and more; and CMAC's HDMI output delivers the best live, high-definition footage to chartplotters, TVs and dedicated monitors, as well as standard definition devices that are connected via an HDMI to composite convertor. In addition, the system can be connected to a boat's WiFi router enabling all on-board cameras to be viewed on smart phones, tablets or computers.

"In 2021, we launched the CMAC range of camera management and control systems for boats," said Carl Hitchcock, managing director, Iris Innovations. "Hosting the unique and feature packed IrisControl app for the Garmin OneHelm platform, CMAC provided boat owners with a single unified camera management, control and recording interface. Now our proven software is greatly enhanced, allowing us to offer Garmin's TD50 with the same great functionality, giving a larger audience access to our camera systems with the benefits of the exceptional build quality and support synonymous with Garmin products. This truly is a collaboration we are proud of."

As well as delivering the industry-leading Iris camera system to boat owners without Garmin systems, the TD50 interface is ideal for larger vessels where screens are set back out of reach or not touch based. By installing a compact Garmin TD50 version of the IrisControl interface into a captain's chair or within arm's reach, users can now fully control, switch manage and review their on board camera video.

Iris Innovations releases new, low-profile Sx76 Series Stainless Steel Cameras

Iris Innovations, leader in affordable on-board camera security and situational awareness systems, announced today the launch of its new line of low-profile Sx76 series cameras.

Taking style queues from IRIS' best-selling range of corrosion-proof marine-grade stainless steel cameras, the new IRIS Sx76 series camera is totally unique in that it is designed to be installed on a vertical plane looking directly outwards rather than in a hanging orientation. This new style of camera not only has a pleasing aesthetic, but also guarantees a far wider field of view while recessing into the super-structure, making it less prominent and more discreet.

"We are thrilled to announce our latest camera line to the market," said Carl Hitchcock, managing director, Iris Innovations. "As cameras are becoming more and more commonplace in recreational marine applications, finding new ways to reduce the impact on the aesthetics of a vessel, while still providing exceptional image quality is becoming increasingly important. Our new Sx76 cameras are the lowest profile cameras on the market and exceptional for surveillance tasks and improving situational awareness for captains and crew."

Featuring an industry-leading 1.8mm super-wide-angle lens and available in three-megapixel IP, analogue and analogue HD formats, the Sx76 is a bold and ground-breaking new style of camera that is extremely useful for back-up and docking situations, on board security and general surveillance. Built in infra-red LED illuminators provide short range night vision around the camera to a range of around 30-feet (10m). The unit's corrosion-proof 316 stainless steel housing is IP66 rated for water and dust resistance, providing the ultimate protection for the harsh marine environment. It can be used for deck monitoring aboard workboats, fishing vessels and passenger vessels, while fitting in equally as well with the high-end aesthetic of luxury vessels and yachts. Measuring only three inches (80mm) in diameter and one inch (28mm) above the mounting face, the Sx76 is small enough to be used in areas where space is tight, such as engine rooms or anchor lockers, while the wide-angle lens provides unobtrusive surveillance for large areas like an aft deck or bathing platform. During installation, the camera's inner ball can be adjusted and then locked into position by simply tightening the outer bezel to achieve the desired view. For marine applications, the camera is directly compatible with Raymarine LH2 and above, Simrad, Lowrance and B&G. For Garmin systems, it can be used in conjunction with Iris CMAC systems.

The Sx76 series cameras are available through Iris' worldwide dealer network, Fort Lauderdale hub and direct from Iris UK. For more information the Iris Sx76 or the entire Iris Innovations product line, please visit www.boat-cameras.com.
