Bala Sailing Club Easter Regatta 2023

by Rob Sloggett 19 Apr 2023 15:10 PDT 8-9 April 2023

Llyn Tegid provided the most incredible backdrop, as always, for Bala SC to run their Easter Regatta. 25 boats raced, including two Flying Dutchman, which was a treat to see.

Zephyrus causing trouble here and there The forecast for Saturday was looking a bit dodgy, with a range of 4 to 0 knots. Zephyrus was the Greek God of the West wind. Would he turn up or would he hide in the hills? It left a difficult sail size choice for Pippa Evans. Posted on 25 Jul

A fantastic 62 boats out on the start line Events of this nature do not come easy. As Bala SC is a volunteer ran club, I must start this report by thanking every one of the 40+ club members who worked in advance, but also on the day to ensure this event ran faultlessly. Posted on 28 Jun

33 boats take to the start line with a fantastic mix of designs With 26 boats in 2021 and 2022, it was great to see a small increase this year with 33 boats taking to the start line. Once again, the mix was fantastic with a strong showing of Supernovas, Blazes, Comets, Solos and Lasers. Posted on 19 Jul 2023
