New Hylas M47 has arrived in America

by Hylas Yachts 3 May 2023 10:48 PDT

The new Hylas M47 has arrived in the American yachting market. The new yacht is an adaptation of the twin diesel inboard Hylas M44.

The new M47 is not only the first outboard yacht in the brands M-Series but also the very first twin diesel outboard yacht introduced to the American recreational market.

  • With twin Cox CXO300 diesel outboards, the boat tops out at 31 knots and cruises at 17 knots with a fuel burn of just 15 GPH at 2,500 RPM. Paired with the optional Sharrow Props, the performance and efficiency are even greater.
  • With the standard 4-blade props and 475-gallon fuel capacity, the M47 has a maximum range of 1,000 miles. With the optional 700-gallon tanks, the range can be extended to 1,500 miles.
  • Hull No. 1 of the M47 is available for immediate purchase in the United States, with 8 build slots available for 2024

Hylas Yachts is excited to announce the release of their latest addition to the M-Series yachts, the Hylas M47. As part of their ongoing expansion into the motor yacht segment, the M47 has been specifically designed and equipped for the American yachting market. With classic styling and cutting-edge technology, the M47 is a standout vessel in its class.

The M47 features a hand-laid hull with a fine entry at the bow that flattens toward the after section of the vessel, providing a smooth and stable ride in a variety of conditions. Equipped with twin Cox diesel-powered outboards, the M47 is highly efficient, enabling it to glide through the water with standard 4-blade props at 31 knots on the top end or 17 knots and 2,500 RPM at cruise burning just 16 gallons per hour, making it one of the most fuel-efficient vessels in its class. For those looking to extend the range, throttling back to 9 knots will allow the yacht to voyage up to 1,000 miles without refueling. Additional fuel capacity of up to 700 gallons is available as an option, which would extend the vessel's range to an impressive 1,500 miles.

The Hylas M47 is the first diesel outboard yacht offered to the American recreational yachting market. Hylas selected the diesel outboards for their exceptional efficiency, reliability, and longevity. Not only are the diesel outboards more efficient, but Cox offers a 5-year, 1500 hour warranty and rates the engines to 6,000 hours of operation. The M-Series yachts are particularly attractive to sailors converting from sailing yachts to powerboats, as diesel engines are familiar to them, and the fundamentals of the diesel engine remain the same.

The M47 comes equipped with other standard features that are innovative and cutting-edge, such as lithium-ion batteries and an HVAC system from Thermodynamica, enabling generator-free operation of the environmental system. The yacht is impressively equipped and highly spec'd for long-distance voyaging while being perfectly suited for weekend pleasure cruising with friends and family.

The M47 features an open and spacious layout, designed to include everyone and provide an exceptional on-water experience. From the helm station to the aft cockpit lounge, the visibility is spectacular, providing unobstructed views from every perspective of the yacht's interior. Among the yacht's best features is the opening aft galley window, easy to open with one hand, and securely locking to enable open-air enjoyment while under way. The galley is practical and functional, perfect for entertaining and serving, while also designed to maximize space and storage. The yacht features two pull-out refrigerator units, a massive top-loading freezer, and a four-burner propane range with oven and broiler.

The salon features an L-shaped settee and an adjustable height teak table that can be converted into a berth. The helm of the M47 can be configured to suit the owner's requirements and comes standard with a Raymarine MFD, autopilot, electronic controls, and joystick controls for the outboards. The double helm seat provides superb visibility, adding both confidence and enjoyment while in command of the yacht.

The M47 features a two-stateroom, one-head configuration. The master has a queen-size berth with three drawers beneath and a cedar-lined hanging locker. The amidship guest cabin has equal focus on comfort and storage, as well as a lower berth that splits into two twins or combines into a large double. An upper pullman berth is ideal for kids or grandchildren or can be used for additional storage. The guest cabin can sleep up to three. To starboard, the head features a large separate stall shower, molded sink with vanity and cabinetry, and an electric freshwater toilet.

Hylas M47 Hull No. 1 is now available for immediate purchase in the United States, with an additional eight build slots available for 2024.
