The 2024 ORC Mediterranean Championship is now open for entries and organizers at the Circolo del Remo e della Vela Italia (CRVI) are pleased to offer a new format of competitive inshore racing over 9-11 May 2024 followed on 17-18 May 2024 with offshore racing in the 69th edition of the 150-mile Regata dei Tre Golfi (3G).

Participation in both the inshore and offshore race formats is required for scoring for the 2024 ORC Mediterranean Championship, with trophies awarded in four classes: ORC Class A, Class B, Class C and Class D, with CDL limits defined in the Notice of Race. Scoring of the inshore races alone is eligible for trophies in the Campianato Nazionale del Medio e Basso Tirreno (CNT). The long distance race is non-discardable for the ORC Mediterranean Championship.

After Registration at the CRVI's Race Office located in Sorrento Harbor on Wednesday, 8 May, up to five windward/leeward races will be held in the Bay of Naples off Sorrento starting on Thursday, 9 May and will continue daily through Saturday, 11 May.

?On Friday 17 May at 16:30 CET the long distance race will start on an offshore course defined by Naples-Ponza Island-Li Galli Rocks-Naples.

This year's event will also have an overall award winner determined by the following formulation: Score = P-Nr + 1/(Ne x Nr) - Nr

where P = Total number of points scored by the low points scoring system, Nr = Number of races completed by the class, and Ne = Number of entrants in the class.

"We are excited to once again offer a competitive and fun regatta to the ORC racing community," said CRVI President Roberto Mottola di Amato. "We invite all teams to enter from throughout the Mediterranean region and beyond to enjoy all the best we can offer in great racing conditions, superb race management, beautiful scenery and some of the best cultural and culinary attractions made famous in southern Italy."

The 2024 ORC Mediterranean Championship is part of the Tre Golfi Sailing Week, supported by Rolex as the Official Timepiece of the event.
