Opening its doors to investors, marine technology company savvy navvy has already passed £750,000 from over 150 investors so far on investment platform Seedrs, with offers still pouring in.

The award winning navigation app, often referred to as 'Google maps for boats', just launched their crowdfunding campaign and has already blown past their minimum £500,000 target. The round is currently still open, but it may be the last chance for anyone who wants to own a piece of the marine tech company to come onboard.

Savvy navvy is becoming increasingly popular in the leisure marine market due to its accessible user interface and smart routing-technology. With a pre-money valuation of £14m, the successful marine tech continues to grow.

"I'm blown away by the continued support and pleased to have over 150 new investors on board in this round already. Many are loyal savvy navvy users - boaters, who share our vision and want to have some input into the direction of navigation for small leisure craft and share the journey with us.

With an enhanced app, growing brand awareness and users globally savvy navvy is now poised to scale up dramatically, and with this funding round we look to strengthen our marketing strategy further to get even more people safely out on the water," says Jelte Liebrand, CEO & Founder of savvy navvy.

Last year savvy navvy won the British Marine Business of the Year award, grew its partnerships across the globe and launched a hugely popular instructor programme, as the marine industry continues to innovate and promote digital first navigation.

"We've surpassed 1.6million app downloads and our users have plotted more than 250,000,000 miles around the world. Now in our seventh year here at savvy navvy, we are actively shaping the marine industry for the better and working alongside my 15-strong team we are challenging the bigger navigation apps in the market," Jelte says.

Offering clutter-free charts and smart routing - the savvy navvy app solves vital navigation issues for boaters, kayakers, paddleboarders and jet-skiers. It gives users the best route based on the departure time, chart, weather, tide, boat data and local regulations. Points of interest, including marina information, marine services and local businesses are also shown in the app helping users plan their stays.
