With their debut at the Southampton Boat Show this year, Optima Yachts is thrilled to announce the launch of the new e14 model, setting a new standard in luxury electric boating.

The team are delighted to announce they are opening up build slots for this ground-breaking model, to commence in 2025. The forerunner to the e14, the popular e10 prototype, will be on display at Berth M322, providing a fantastic opportunity for visitors to discover more about the future of eco-friendly yachting.

Building on the widespread interest the e10 has generated, the Optima e14, measuring 14m (46 feet) in length, represents new strides in technology combined with outstanding craftsmanship. Powered by a 100% electric drive system, the e14 boasts a remarkable range of up to 150 nautical miles on just one single charge. This impressive capability is complemented by a suite of luxurious features designed to deliver the ultimate in comfort and convenience to those on board, whilst adaptability to different customer preferences means that there will be Open, T-top and Enclosed versions available. This versatility ensures that the Optima Yachts range has complete flexibility and can be styled to the requirements of different markets across Europe and beyond.

e14 innovative features and design:

  • Electric power: The e14's drive system delivers smooth and efficient cruising, free from the noise and emissions of traditional propulsion.

  • Superb amenities: The yacht will include a fully-equipped galley with induction hobs and electric ovens/microwaves, a spacious entertainment area for up to 10 guests, and large fridges, freezers, and ice-makers, all powered by high-voltage batteries or solar energy.

  • Eco-friendly construction: With a lightweight FRP construction, the e14 integrates natural reinforcements like flax fibres and bio-resins, along with selective carbon fibre use, ensuring both durability and reduced environmental impact.

  • Safety and efficiency: Having no gas or flammable fuels onboard, safety is enhanced. Energy-efficient air conditioning and heating systems ensure comfort without compromising sustainability.

  • Charging and sustainability: The e14 supports fast DC-charging and is compatible with existing marina infrastructure, including 16A and 32A systems. Solar panels are also integrated, offering renewable energy for extended stays away from shore.

David Kendall, Founder and CEO, commented on their latest news: "As we developed the e10 to refine our technology and demonstrate what was possible, our vision always included larger vessels. The e10 remains a perfect option for those seeking a more compact yacht, the e14 truly pushes the boundaries of what an electric yacht can offer in terms of both performance and comfort. Designed to be modular and adaptable, the e14 caters to individual preferences with options like open, T-top, and enclosed versions, making it a versatile choice for any discerning owner."

Boasting a host of exceptional features and innovative design elements serves to further showcase Optima Yachts' commitment to blending the ultimate in comfort and luxury with environmental responsibility. This is truly an exclusive opportunity for sophisticated yacht enthusiasts with a forward-thinking mindset.
