The 2024 Snipe World Championship competitors spent a frustrating day on the waters of the Rio de la Plata, waiting for the wind to materialize. One race was attempted under the "U" flag, but was cancelled due to a drop in wind, below the Snipe Class limit of 5 knots.

With the temperatures increasing, the weather systems fought and the result was not producing enough wind to hold a valid race.

Race committee chair Teodoro (Kiko) Kundig commented; "We set the course from 30 degrees and we had 6-7 knots at the scheduled time, but the wind dropped to 3 knots and we flew the AP flag. We tried another 2-3 times, but the wind was not steady. Tomorrow, our forecast is much better and we have moved the start 1 hour earlier (12:00pm) and will try for more races."

Racing will commence again on Wednesday, October 30, with the current schedule for 2 races per day with 1 race on the final day, Saturday, November 2. The Race Committee has the option to add an additional race if behind in the schedule.
