The Hong Kong International Boat Show 2024 ended with positive response from both exhibitors and visitors. The Show, organised by Club Marina Cove, is widely regarded by the boating industry as the premier event in the Asia Pacific.

The 25th Edition has on display some 50 boats from Italy, France, Finland, Spain, UK, USA and China. The four-day event attracted some 5,000 visitors. With the increasing popularity of boating, the demand for boats of different designs and makes has grown steadily. Hong Kong's unique waterscape of 261 islands is a distinct asset to its development as a major boating centre.

Thailand's marine industry has thrown its support to the strategic relocation of the Thailand International Boat Show to Phuket Yacht Haven Marina in 2025 with 50+ boats booked in-the-water, 60+ exhibitors confirmed onshore, and an expanded in-water-onshore exhibition space of more than 10,000 sqm. Taking place 9-12 January the show is preceded by the Thailand Yachting Conference and Show Gala Dinner, creating a B2B2C platform that connects industry stakeholders and showcases Thailand's marine leisure industry to Thai and international customers.

The Beneteau Owners Rally took place in New Zealand on 23 November and was a smashing success, receiving strong turnout and creating a perfect platform for owners to share their experiences on the water, and celebrate their passion for boating. Organized by the dealer 36 Degrees Brokers, this event welcomed the entries of 25 Beneteau yachts including sailboats and powerboats and over 100 participants for a memorable day filled with sailing, camaraderie, and celebration.

How to report marine pest sightings. As fantastic as the New Zealand coastline surveillance teams are, they can't get around it all. They need your help! Please keep an eye out for anything that might be a marine pest and if you find something unusual, report it ASAP. Tip: Not sure? They would always rather get a report even if it's negative. Early detection is the best defence!

And from Lagoon, this November, two owner's gatherings took place in our region to commemorate Lagoon's 40th anniversary and pay tribute to the Lagoon yachting lifestyle. Here's a look at those two events in Thailand and New Zealand respectively.
