World Sailing was honoured to accept an invitation from the New York Yacht Club to host its 2025 Mid-Year Meeting. The gathering brought the World Sailing Board and Council together in person at the Club's historic 44th Street Clubhouse in Manhattan — an iconic venue designed by Whitney Warren, renowned architect of Grand Central Station.

Surrounded by one of the most extensive collections of sailing memorabilia, historic trophies, and the world-famous Model Room — home to meticulously scaled models of America's Cup challengers and defenders — the Board conducted a series of productive strategic meetings. The venue also houses one of the most comprehensive yachting libraries in the world, further underscoring the significance of the setting.

The invitation to host the meeting was extended by Commodore Jay Cross, whose warm hospitality was deeply appreciated by all attendees.

David Graham, CEO of World Sailing, commented: "We were honoured and grateful to be welcomed by the New York Yacht Club, one of the most prestigious yacht clubs in the world. Our time in New York was not only productive but also inspiring, thanks to the historic setting and the thoughtfulness of our hosts.

"As we look ahead to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, strengthening relationships within the US sailing community is essential. The dinner hosted in the NYYC Model Room by Commodore Jay Cross brought together the right people to support that mission. On behalf of World Sailing, I extend our sincere thanks for the generous hospitality and look forward to continued collaboration in the lead-up to the Games."

Jay Cross, Commodore of the New York Yacht Club, added: "It was a privilege to host the World Sailing President and Board for the 2025 Mid-Year Meeting. We were delighted to share our facilities and contribute to a new chapter in the club's storied history.

"With Los Angeles set to host the 2028 Olympic Games, this is a pivotal moment for sailing in the United States. We're excited to see all stakeholders coming together in alignment with World Sailing's vision to grow the sport and support athletes at every level."
