After nearly two decades in Workum, the Dutch Youth Regatta (DYR) embarked on a new journey in Kamperland. The move to Roompot Marina introduced sailors to the dynamic conditions of the Oosterschelde, offering both challenges and opportunities for growth.

Day 1: a calm commencement

The regatta began under clear skies but with minimal wind. Patience was key as sailors awaited favorable conditions. By late afternoon, a gentle breeze allowed the 29er fleet to complete a single race, setting the stage for the days ahead.

Day 2: Winds of change

Friday brought improved conditions. The 29ers took full advantage of the consistent breeze, showing tight competition across the top of the fleet. French teams began to separate themselves from the pack, setting the stage for an all-French podium.

Day 3: tight battles and tactical sailing

Saturday's races were marked by strategic maneuvers and close finishes. Swiss team Ikke Huber & Liam Berger (SUI 3423) and Dutch U17 sailors Beerdluuk Spijkervet & Thomas Reyers (NED 2725) made significant strides, challenging the leaders and intensifying the competition.

Day 4: sealing the victory

After a frustratingly calm Saturday, the final day at Kamperland delivered superb conditions. Clear skies and a steadily building breeze allowed race committees to run a full schedule across all classes. The 29er fleet showcased exceptional talent, with Alexandre Mostini & Raphaël Allain (FRA 3425) securing gold. In fact, the entire podium was French, a dominant display of teamwork and speed in a highly competitive international field.
