New Seaward 42 E16 flagship is taking shape

The Boat Development Co Ltd, builders of Seaward boats based at Cowes, is mid-way through building a new flagship model of their proven all-weather 42 E16 motor yacht. Based on the same Mk II Nelson hull favoured by commercial pilots and harbour authorities around the world, she also shares many of the commercial components that make these boats so reliable.

The first of these new Seaward 42 E16 motor yachts is an aft-cockpit version ordered by an experienced owner, whose past boats have included a Seaward 35 and large sailing yachts. He plans extensive short-handed cruising and has opted for the single cabin arrangement with an extended wheelhouse incorporating a well-appointed day area, a central dinette and galley, and master stateroom forward to maximise on living space. Other versions include a master suite aft cabin and the option of a two berth central cabin replacing the dinette arrangement.

'Our new Seaward 42 models are built very much on a bespoke basis to meet individual requirements.” Says William Rhys-Jones, Seaward’s Sales and Marketing Director, adding. “Each is built to order and to a five-star standard, and we can do almost anything to tailor the layout and accommodation to meet an owner’s specific requirements. We have a mass of experience and will happily work with owners to develop their ideas and specify key equipment.”

She is powered by twin Cummins QSB 6.7 litre engines, developing 425hp each. Her impressive specification includes both a Gyro-stabiliser and Humphree Interceptor active trim control systems to minimise motion and enhance even further the capabilities of this remarkable all-weather vessel.

Anyone wanting a traditionally built, go-anywhere motor yacht, tailored to suit their exact requirements should contact The Boat Development Co Ltd.
