The International Fireball Association of Australia (IFAA) is proud to have Gill Marine sponsoring the 50th running of the Australian Championship. Gill has long been associated with creating fantastic sailing clothing and equipment, and is often the "go to" brand for people who sail performance dinghies such as the Fireball.

The championships is being run at one of the class's favourite venues, Lake Cootharaba near Noosa in Queensland. The regatta starts on the 28th December 2015 and concludes on the 3rd January 2016. The venue is one of the classic racing locations in Australia with warm flat water and a strong sea breeze on a salt water lake. With the strong wind and flat water, it is ideally suited to racing for all boats, but particularly the Fireball.

This year like most years we are expecting very tight racing with a strong fleet to contest for the title, but entries must be received by the 30th November 2015 otherwise a late fee will required.

The Notice of Race and entry form can be found here.

Fireball International has always run regattas in exotic locations such as Barbados and Thailand, and next year is no different with the European Championships being sailed in Lake Garda, Italy and the World Championship in Mossel Bay, South Africa, followed by Barbados again in 2017.

If anyone is interested in sailing a Fireball please contact your state association. Most associations have access to competitive boats for loaning plus crewing positions may be available:
