Johnson Yachts is excited to share news of the recent launch of the Johnson 112 with members of the media. The latest launch from this Taiwan yard has key design features that were specified by her owners to make this a truly one-of-a-kind, six-stateroom superyacht.

The Johnson 112 has a fiberglass hull and superstructure, built from a design using the yard's in-house naval architecture and engineering. Bill Dixon at Dixon Yacht Design drew the yacht's distinctive exterior lines, which feature the double bank of vertical windows forward that have become a company hallmark.

Accommodations on the Johnson 112 start with the main-deck master, which makes the most of the lower bank of vertical windows. These windows provide excellent views in a wide panorama encompassing the bow of the superyacht. Belowdecks are five additional staterooms. Four of these staterooms feature twin berths that combine easily to form double berths. Two of the staterooms also have Pullman berths, bringing the count of the owner's party to fourteen. Comfortable crew's quarters accommodate six.

As an early adopter of large-volume hull forms, Johnson Yachts understands the importance of space for comfort on board and the Johnson 112 is no exception – this yacht has the 23-foot, 7-inch beam that allows for exceptional space belowdecks, where hullside windows offer natural light and opening ports ensure ventilation.

"The owners knew what they wanted," says Jeff Stanley, the yacht broker at Gilman Yachts in Ft. Lauderdale who is the U.S. East Coast dealer for Johnson Yachts. "The Johnson 112 is the perfect example of the ability of Johnson Yachts to accommodate the owners. She's a one-of-a-kind superyacht that fulfilled their specific needs."

The shared spaces on board also accommodate large groups, with three distinct dining areas that can seat 12 together at one table: the main saloon dining area, the aft deck, and the flying bridge. The flying bridge is expansive and sturdily built, with a boat deck equipped with a davit and space for a RIB tender and two personal watercraft. A huge bow sunpad and seating area further optimizes the outdoor space on board.

The design also incorporates a fishing cockpit, which allows guests to enjoy the water in comfort and safety. From the cockpit there is access to a complete dive room with a compressor and stowage for dive tanks and the necessary equipment for underwater adventures.

The Johnson 112 is powered by a pair of 1,925-horsepower Caterpillar C32 ACERT diesels, giving her a top speed of 21 knots. ABT zero-speed fin stabilizers enhance comfort both under way and at anchor.

"We have never understood why yacht owners don't always get the yacht they truly desire," said Andy Huang, president of Johnson Yachts. "At Johnson Yachts, we have the capability to create the yacht an owner wants, without sacrificing a strong hull, performance, or excellent engineering."

While the Johnson 112 is a fine example of this superyacht builder's capabilities, it's really just one set of ideas. Johnson Yachts offers various layouts, as well semi-custom modifications within this superyacht design, to allow owners to make the most of the hull's volume. And because Johnson Yachts does its own engineering, the company knows how to ensure a solid, reliable build with added features and owner modifications.
