Friday September 27th will see numerous coffee mornings hosted across the South Coast in aid of Macmillian Cancer Support. However, only one is set to take place on board a fleet of boats in picturesque Osbourne Bay, near Cowes on the Isle of Wight.

This innovative take on a coffee morning is being hosted by employees from Portsmouth-based Ballistic RIBs and Boat Club Trafalgar, both part of the Trafalgar Group. The teams plan to raise vital funds to support people living with cancer.

They will be serving home-made cakes, cooked by the team on board Selene a 22' Finnmaster powerboat, along with fresh coffee donated by the Raw Bean Coffee Company.

Coffee and cake deliveries will be made to boaters and water-bourne visitors in Osbourne Bay between 10.30 and 14.30 via RIBs on loan from Ballistic.

Everyone who can arrive by water, via whatever boat, vessel or watersports activity, is invited by the team to come along, and support the incredible work done by Macmillan for the growing number of people with cancer who need their help.

"Cancer affects and touches many lives, and we wanted to do something a little different for our 'Floating' World's Biggest Coffee Morning, to support Macmillan. So, we thought it would be fun to get as many people out on the water as possible to join in," explains event organiser Heather Shepherd, from Ballistic, who will also be baking the cakes.

"Everyone is welcome to come and help raise much-needed money for people living with cancer. And you can arrive however you like - by kayak, paddle board, rowing boat, powerboat, dinghy or sailing yacht! Just remember to bring a donation for your coffee and cake!"

Osbourne Bay has been chosen as a beautiful anchorage and popular destination for boating and sailing enthusiasts, and is in easy reach of Cowes, Portsmouth, Southampton and the western Solent.

Additionally, the Floating Macmillan Coffee Morning will receive an on-water visit from the Bubblehead Rowers, a team of four professional divers taking part in the 3000 miles Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Row in aid of Wessex Cancer. One of the team's wives is suffering from cancer.

Every two minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer, and over 2.5 million people suffering with the disease. Numbers are set to grow to nearly 4 million by 2030. Macmillan is almost entirely funded by donations and cannot support the growing number of people with cancer, without the public's help.

The coffee morning is taking place Friday 27 September, between 10.30-14.30 in the middle of Osbourne Bay.

The boats will be located in Osbourne Bay in the approximate vicinity of:
