Columbus Crossover 40: Are you ready for the next voyage?

The Columbus 40 Crossover is the smallest model in the yard's Crossover range, designed by Sergio Cutolo from Hydro Tec, which also includes a 50-meter and a 57-meter.
This model was born from the need to accommodate, even on yachts of fairly compact size, tenders of a size comparable to those of much larger yachts and, at the same time, to adapt to a new lifestyle that makes the boat a private island on which concentrate all the activities of the holiday.
The external line is characterized by modern and muscular shapes, with a prevalence of tense and angled surfaces with the concentration of volumes in the forward area, typical of the Crossover, but further accentuated to make room for the tender. The hull is of the displacement type, with bulbous bow and flat, flared aft sections. The construction is in steel with light alloy superstructures.
The 40 Crossover, for example, can accommodate tenders up to 8 meters in length and 2.5 tons in weight on deck, as well as a whole series of "toys" that are normally supplied to yachts of this type.
The space left by the tender, which is usually towed, remains completely free thanks to the retractable crane installed in the aft area of the upper deck.
The stern area houses a swimming pool with automatic sliding cover and a large bathing platform which become the ideal area to look out over the sea. The bulwarks are completely foldable and they create a huge platform which becomes an immense beach club able to be configured according to the needs of the moment.
The Sun Deck is intended for social life and is characterized by a sunbathing area, towards the stern, and an area for observation with a sofa facing the bow.
In the middle, covered by the hard top, we find the outdoor dining / cocktail area, with a large bar on the straight side and a dining table on the left. The hard-top houses a characteristic "crow's nest" from which you can enjoy a 360-degree view.
The two socializing areas, the deck saloon and the sky lounge, are characterized in such a way as to become, respectively, the main saloon and the formal lunch / dinner area. In particular, the dining room located on the upper deck develops full width and opens to the side, creating a cantilevered loggia over the ocean.
The owner's suite is traditionally arranged towards the bow, on the main deck, while the four guest cabins are located below deck in the central area of the hull.
A tunnel, located in the double bottom, connects the engine room to the crew area, as well as allowing the passage of the main lines of the plants and the inspection of the equipment and fuel tanks.
The stern area of the hull houses a lazarette which can be configured for the owner's equipment.
The propulsion is ensured by two Caterpillar C 32 of 970 kW each which allow a maximum speed in excess of 14.5 knots and a range of over 4,000 miles at economic speed thanks to tanks with a capacity of approximately 60 m3.
Two desalinators, with a capacity of approximately 8.6 m3 / day, feed the freshwater tanks which have a total capacity of approximately 10 m3.
The yacht is fully equipped for maximum comfort with both zero speed and under way stabilization.
