New Cat Event on Ullswater

Desperately short of events as we all are, it is great news that a new date for catamaran sailors has just been announced.
The Ullswater Catamaran Challenge, 18-19th September, is a brand new distance sailing event and a first for beautiful Lake Ullswater. Up to 50 cats of all classes will enjoy a weekend of racing.
The actual schedule has yet to be fixed, but at least one day will be a full length lake race, following the course of the famous Lord Birkett Ullswater race. With a lap of some 12.5 miles, so possibly two laps for the fast guys if conditions suit.
This race forms part of the popular Allen Endurance series and looks like filling a hole where Northern and Scottish based cat sailors can get some action for a change.
Hosted by the Ullswater Yacht Club, on-site camping is available, full bar and their superb galley will be available too. Single Handed - £50, Double Handed £70. Entry via ullswateryachtclub.org/event/601497
