Eight Classics and two Vintage 14's arrived for the annual meeting. The forecast was looking good, tides good but maybe a bit early for some, briefing at 0645 and start of race 0745.

Obviously this meant that there are many hours left in the day to explore the delights of North Norfolk, or sit in the pub.

There was only one long race on the Saturday as the start was close to high water but Sunday had two races.

Saturday

Lyndon Beasley and Ian Marshall in K1048 set off at a pace and as try they could neither Joe Plant and Brain Wilmott in K1113 or William Vaughan and James Vaughan in K935 could catch them; 1 hour 20 minutes later they crossed the line in that order, then Andy Hunter and Greg Martin in K1092, Chris and Edward Allen in K330, John Mason and Rosie Ferguson in K1095, Ian Tuffrey and Alistair Wilson in K880 followed.

Unfortunately Ned Coackley and Amy Howes in K940 had gear failure and had to retire, as the main halyard snapped.

The afternoon was spent relaxing until the evening pub session at the Kings Arms.

Sunday

First race, disaster for Will and James Vaughan as they capsized on the start line and everyone had to avoid them, but Lyndon and Ian carried on in their winning streak followed by Joe and Brian, Andy and Greg then the recovered Vaughans. Ian and Alistair decided to head back to the quay, John and Rosie did a lot of swimming but still were smiling and same for Ned and Amy.

In the Vintage race, Paul and Karen Armitage in K366 came for the one day and beat Chris and Edward.

Second race, Lyndon and Ian were over the line(just) at the start and had to return to start last. What a catch up, one by one they picked off both the 2 vintages and then the others and it was neck and neck whether they might just pick of the Vaughans but they did on the last leg to the finish.

So three wins for Lyndon and Ian to take home the Wolfe Cup, second were Joe and Brian, and then the Vaughans.

In the Vintage class, Paul and Karen beat Chris and Edward by 1/4 point.

Another cracking weekend of Classic and Vintage International 14s.
