Lagoon, the world-renowned leader in catamaran manufacturing celebrating its 40 years in 2024, has officially announced the conclusion of its longstanding partnership with Simpson Marine, a premier yacht dealership in Asia, founded in 1984 in Hong Kong.

After 37 years of collaboration across seven countries of Asia marked by successes and a commitment to delivering exceptional yachting experiences, Lagoon and Simpson Marine have reached a mutual decision to part ways following the recent acquisition of the dealership by Sanlorenzo SPA. This marks the end of an era characterised by a shared passion for the seas with over 300 Lagoon catamarans sold in Asia by Simpson Marine and the brand firmly positioned as Asia's preferred catamaran builder.

Commenting on the conclusion of the partnership, Thomas Gailly, Director at Lagoon, expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts with Simpson Marine, stating: "Lagoon and Simpson Marine have been the pioneers of the leisure boating industry in Asia. We have been together through good and bad so there is a lot of emotion going into this separation. It was a real pleasure collaborating for all these years and we wish Mike Simpson a very well deserved retirement."

"It is with a heavy heart that we stop the decades long collaboration with Lagoon. A strategic decision that follows Simpson Marine's acquisition by Sanlorenzo SPA and a subsequent retirement from the business of the company's founder, Mike Simpson. It has been a pleasure to represent this world-leading brand with it's Asia expansion and we have thoroughly enjoyed every single moment of it. We are now committed to ensure a smooth transition and will continue to provide assistance to our Lagoon owners as per our customer promise. As we bid farewell to Lagoon, we wish them continued success in Asia, with fair winds and smooth seas", states Richard Allen, Group General Manager at Simpson Marine.

As Lagoon looks ahead to the future, Lagoon has appointed Asiamarine as their new dealership in Hong Kong, Thailand and Singapore. With the appointment of Asiamarine, Lagoon remains committed to providing clients first-class service throughout this area and reinforces it's status of leadership, with the highest quality catamarans, innovative designs, and unparalleled yachting experiences.

For existing clients and enthusiasts, Lagoon, Simpson Marine and Asiamarine are working together to assure a smooth transition of support and service.
