For their next port of call, to the small South Pacific island of Niue, the World ARC fleet divides into two groups.

Group 1, comprising Asante, Bahati, Corsair, Dilema, Fatjax, Madeleine, Promise 4, Pure Fun, Skyelark 2 and Solaris, were the first to leave on Tuesday.

With its striking mountainous backdrop, Bora Bora has to be one of the most picturesque leg starts we've had so far. In Group 1, first to cross the line on Tuesday was Skyelark 2, followed by Fatjax and Solaris.

By Friday, with the weather causing a few concerns, there were just three boats for Group 2's Leg 5 start departing from Bora Bora with Kaja and Navillus 3 first across the line, shortly followed by Nusquama.

The boats are now on their 1,050 nautical mile sail to Niue. The fleet have a 1,050-nautical mile sail to Niue, where they'll spend a few days before sailing on a further 240-nautical miles to Vava'u in Tonga for a fleet rendezvous.

Abide, Bluemoona, Crazy Horse, Less Traveled, Serendipity IV and Sofa So Good have delayed departure from Bora Bora until Saturday. Axonite and Second Wind are departing French Polynesia at leisure and will head straight to Tonga.
