The Melbourne Boat Show Exhibitor and VIP Function took place on 18 October, at the immediate conclusion of trading, right on site at Melbourne City Marina function room. A strong attendance of circa 200 exhibitors enjoyed a great catch up, network, dinner and drinks, as well as presentation of the best exhibit awards. The Boating Industry Association of Victoria congratulates the winners.

AkzoNobel's yacht coatings business has opened its first Yacht Paint Application Centre in the Asia-Pacific region to offer world-class product and technical training alongside the latest cutting-edge digital paint application tools. The new state of the art facility, located in the world-renowned Gold Coast City Marina in Coomera, will enhance AkzoNobel's global technical network which supports applicators and industry professionals with personalized consultations and a hands-on training program to improve their skills and deliver high-quality results.

New Zealand sailors enjoyed watching their AC team Emirates Team New Zealand's win against the best of the United Kingdom, Italy, Switzerland, France and the USA. Further evidence that New Zealand has the world's best sailors and is leading the world in boatbuilding innovation and technology! The NZ Marine Industry Association congratulates Emirates Team New Zealand, winners of the 37th America's Cup, in a contest which set new records on the water.

Australia's custom superyacht builder Echo Yachts has commenced construction of their latest creation, the ASC57, at their superyacht building facility in the Australian Marine Complex, WA. This groundbreaking project brings together industry leaders from across the globe. In partnership with renowned Dutch sailing yacht designers Dykstra Naval Architects and Australia's leading aluminium multihull experts One2Three Naval Architects, Echo Yachts will deliver the world's largest sailing catamaran to date.

What do Kate Purdie from the Coral Sea Marina, Candice Crossley from Whitsunday Transit, Alice Harriott from Whitsunday Family Dental, and Julie Telford from SeaLink Marine and Tourism all have in common? Apart from being some of the Whitsundays' best-known women, these four females are about to make to history as the region's inaugural team of 'Dancing CEOs'. Officially announced at a Southeast Queensland launch last week, this dynamic quartet joins the well-established, Brisbane-based fundraising initiative, through which CEOs and business leaders compete in a dance contest to support Women's Legal Service Queensland.

Carbon Yachts have announced its Maritime Emissions Reduction Coalition membership, reinforcing its commitment to advancing sustainable boating technologies. With electric vessels now beginning to surpass petrol-powered boats in many key areas, Carbon Yachts is helping drive the shift toward cleaner, high-performance solutions that are transforming the maritime leisure industry. Chris Hrones, co-founder, commented: "Electric vessels are no longer just an environmentally friendly option, they're starting to outperform petrol-powered boats in many key areas. This isn't just a trend; electric propulsion is a fundamental shift in the future of boating."

Overseas, PT Marina Development Indonesia and Pelindo are excited to announce the groundbreaking of Indonesia's first international-standard full-service marina. This milestone project represents a significant leap forward in the country's maritime tourism and infrastructure. The marina will be able to accommodate 180 wet berths, including more than 50 superyachts up to 90 meters in length. It will have a modern yacht service area equipped with a travel lift capable of handling up to 200 tons and a high-quality fuelling station.
