It is with profound sadness that Northrop & Johnson announces the passing of our beloved Yacht Broker colleague and friend, Paul Daubner. Paul peacefully passed away on March 12th after a two year stage 4 cancer journey, with his devoted wife, Kimberly, by his side.

A revered member of the yachting industry, Paul dedicated more than 30 years to the sea—as a private and charter captain, technical superintendent, yacht and project manager, and, ultimately, as a highly respected yacht broker and mentor to the brokerage community. In 2009, he made San Diego his home and joined Northrop & Johnson, where he built a remarkable legacy defined by professionalism, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to his clients.

Paul's passion for yachting was equaled only by his love for life. Whether closing a deal, guiding clients toward their dream yacht, or simply sharing stories of life on the water, his infectious enthusiasm and dedication left an indelible mark on everyone he met. His expertise facilitated countless global yacht transactions throughout his career, earning him the trust and admiration of colleagues and clients.

Beyond his professional achievements, Paul was a true connoisseur of life's greatest joys. He found peace on the water, adventure atop mountain slopes, and fulfillment in time spent with family. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Kimberly, his sons, Max and Jackson, daughter-in-law Charlotte, his cherished grandson, Hayes, and his seven brothers and sisters. His legacy will live on through them, as well as through the countless lives he touched in the yachting community.

"We will forever remember Paul's warmth, integrity, and the genuine passion he brought to his work and relationships," said Northrop & Johnson President & CCO Cromwell Littlejohn. "His presence was a guiding light in our industry, and his absence will be deeply felt. Fair winds and following seas, Paul." "Paul was a truly cherished friend and team member," said Northrop & Johnson Chairman Kevin Merrigan. "He and his family will forever be members of our N&J family. We cannot convey how much he will be missed."

Northrop & Johnson extends its deepest condolences to Paul's family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations in Paul's name to Cal-Maritime association. Click here to donate.
