Bayliss Boatworks new construction updates

by Bayliss Boatworks 2 Sep 2023 12:38 PDT

This past month, we assembled the hull jig for our latest project: Bayliss 64'. Attention to detail is a key component of the culture at Bayliss Boatworks, and it is maintained throughout every stage of the build process.

Across 2.5 days, our CNC department meticulously cut the 401 parts that would make up the hull's jig. Organization was essential to ensure the jig assembly ran without error. The pieces were stacked in boxes based on the order they would be laid and were then transfered over to our hull shop. Our hull carpentry team pieced together the stations and had the jig standing to completion in a matter of hours.

The cabin for the 64' build began this past June, and our team will be working on installing the hull stringers next. Be on the lookout for more info on our latest build!

In August, our team continued to make progress in the bridge on Sequentis. Our exterior carpentry crew installed the bridge dash jig base, and now have the dash in fabrication. Piece by piece, the teak decking and border is getting installed on the walkaround. Below deck, our cabinetry department has taken in the mockups and are now fabricating and finishing cabinetry items.

Our crews have been knocking out their tasks on Max Bet. On the exterior, our paint department is sanding the cabin and bow deck. With the cockpit structural decking installed, our exterior team has begun the buildout for the coverboards. In Max Bet's interior, galley mockups are in place and our mechanical team has been busy with air handler installation in the lower accommodations.

August was a productive month on Bayliss 75. With our paint department painting in the machine tunnel, our hull carpentry crew installed the engine room aisleway framing and support. The team also fabricated the battery boxes and is installing the generator shelf in the engine room.  With the fuel tank surround nearing completion, we are looking forward to the installation of her fuel tank next!
